Mezzo-soprano Roxanna Walitzki will perform a program of experimentally-arranged classical songs at the Archipelago Centre Korpoström /  Skärsgårgscentrum Korpoström / Saaristokeskus Korpoström Auditorium, presented by the AARK Archipelago Art Residency in Korpo, Finland.

Trained as an opera singer and heralded as an "operatic iconoclast," Roxanna integrates elements from electronic and ambient music into her arrangements of operatic art-songs, producing a delicate world of sound that matches her uniquely ethereal aesthetic. Currently touring throughout Europe, Roxanna's work keeps classical music alive and current, while addressing the impact humans are having on our natural ecosystems.

This evening of music will be the culmination of Roxanna's time as an artist in residence at AARK, where she has spent July alongside her sibling and artistic collaborator Redd Walitzki (ReddWalitzki.com), who also attended the residency last summer. The siblings set out to travel across Europe earlier this year, and are creating eco-conscious artwork that inspires thought and positive change in the world. Ranging from fine-art, editorial fashion design and photography, to music and video production, their art showcases the message that we, as a whole, can help sustain our fragile home planet.

The program will feature songs by Schubert, Wolf, Debussy, and Duparc, arranged for voice, piano, and electronics, as well as

Video projections by Redd and Roxanna.
